Your child's learning journey begins at the very start

First and foremost, the early years are a critical and complex period, and we cannot pretend to fully understand it alone. It's essential to continually challenge ourselves - parents, educators, and caregivers - to reassess, update our knowledge, and seek support. In today's digital world, with an overwhelming amount of information, it's incredibly difficult for parents to determine the right choices for their child.

However, at our nurseries in UAE  we possess a deep understanding of early years education, gained through daily learning from neuroscience research, best practices shared by experts, and collaborations within the Babilou Family Group. While we acknowledge that knowledge is constantly evolving, you can rely on our expertise to guide you on making this big decision of sending your child to nursery for the first time.

Back to Work: Is My Child Ready for Nursery?

This is a common question, and the answer is clear: you know your child best.

Your child's learning journey begins at the very start. Thanks to neuroscience research on child brain development, we now have scientific evidence that children begin developing essential skills and learning while still in the womb. For many years, we believed that babies who couldn't talk required minimal attention beyond basic care like sleep and feeding.

At every age, a child needs to grow and develop, and understanding these developmental stages is crucial for unlocking their full potential. As educators, our primary responsibility is to ensure children feel safe and loved, laying the foundation for learning. We also share our knowledge with parents to continue these positive experiences at home. To further support parents, we offer caregiver training through our Inspire Me Training program, covering childcare essentials, educational activities, first aid, and healthy eating.

The decision to send your child to nursery depends on your lifestyle and family structure. Your own mental health is a starting point. Children thrive when their parents are well-cared for and ready to engage with them, whether for full days or shorter, quality time after work. A parent's readiness positively impacts their child.

Some parents leave their babies with us when they are two months old and return to work, experiencing joyful reunions after work. Others prefer a gradual transition, starting with three days a week and eventually opting for full-time care. Remember, the transition period is important, and your child's educator is here to support you both.

Now, question yourself on why you want to send your child to nursery school and after making the decision, there are some key factors to consider when choosing the right nursery. From Blossom Nursery we prepared a guideline to help you choose what the best nursery for your child should have.

A Nursery Prepares Your Child for School

Our Blossom nurseries prepare children for any school and curriculum being International Baccalaureate, British, French (…), emphasizing academic excellence and soft skills like confidence, independence, and responsibility. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, Emmi Pikler, and Montessori approaches, we adapt our pedagogies to suit different age groups. Our FS1 and FS2 programs are KHDA and AKED approved, offering focused care with smaller student-to-teacher ratios compared to schools. We monitor your child's progress and provide regular feedback to ensure school readiness.

Our Sustainable Education® program fosters joyful learning, holistic growth, and strong foundations. It focuses on safety, curiosity, nature-based learning, individualization, inclusion, and strong parent partnerships. At Blossom, we're committed to creating a movement for a responsible future with our children and parents.

Choose A Suitable Environment for Toddlers

Our nurseries are designed with strict guidelines and approvals, using child-friendly materials and natural elements. We prioritize sustainability by avoiding plastic and showcasing the power of the sun and nature. Our desert and forest-inspired spaces encourage exploration and learning. We also aim to raise children's awareness of climate change and inspire them to make a positive impact on their environment by utilizing local resources. We partner with organizations like Green Planet, Natura Tribe, and Wohoo to offer additional learning opportunities.

As parents ourselves also, we understand that leaving your child at a nursery is a big decision. Our nurseries spaces are designed as a second home, with cozy spaces, natural light, and calming colors. We believe in respecting a child's developmental pace and providing appropriate activities to encourage growth. Our educators are trained to identify when a child is ready for new challenges and support their independence.

Importance of Age-Appropriate Toys and Activities for Your Child's Growth

Another important point to consider is the age-appropriate nature of toys and activities. While it might be tempting to purchase toys for an older age group to accelerate learning, it's crucial to respect a child's developmental stages.

Educational activities are designed to support specific brain development phases. Children may learn new skills prematurely, but they could miss out on essential skills for their current age. It's vital to respect a child's developmental rhythm. Our educators are trained to recognize when a child is ready for new challenges and provide appropriate activities to encourage growth. We believe children learn best independently in a safe and stimulating environment. While there are many parenting books available, our Blossom educators are also here to guide you at home.

A Screen-Free Zone Nursery

We have a strict no-screen policy at our nursery. We believe in hands-on learning and social interaction. Children need first to touch, feel, smell, experiment, test and interact with others. While we use iPads to document children's learning journeys so you can see their day at the nursery, we avoid screen time for children.

Is Your Kid Ready To Receive A Holistic Child Development?

Children learn constantly from their experiences, environment, and role models. We believe in nurturing every aspect of a child's development.
While your children are busy learning at nursery, let’s not forget the valuable lessons they learn at mealtime. These include the importance of quality family time, healthy eating habits, and understanding the different ingredients. As we believe that food is an essential part of a child's education, we have created our own in-house kitchen, Inspire Me Cuisine led by chefs and a nutritionist. Our team carefully selects the best ingredients, prioritizing sustainable and locally sourced options that meet the highest standards.

Beyond nutrition, our camps and extracurricular activities offer opportunities in areas like martial arts, dance, and football, partnering with experts focused on children’s physical and mental well-being.

Remember, whether you're a Blossom parent or not, we're here to support you and your child from pregnancy to age six.
